Easy End of the School Year Organization with Google Keep
Share this post:

It seems like the year just gets more overwhelming as it goes, doesn’t it?
There is just SO much to do, so many things coming at us…and deadlines are always looming. Especially at the end of the school year!
So today I want to share some quick ideas on using a free app to keep track of all the things coming at us.
We will create one place to store all of the important information for the rest of the school year…so you don’t have to go searching all over for dates and notes.
Everything will be right at your fingertips!
Setting Up Your Google Keep
The first thing we’ll need is a place to keep track of everything.
We’ll be using Google Keep.
If you’re thinking, what is Google Keep? please head to this post for all the quick steps on getting started for the first time: Easy Google Keep Organization for Teachers
If you are currently using Google Keep, read on.
We have two options for organizing our end of the school year information.
Option One: Create One Label
This is a great option if you already have lots of labels set up in your Google Keep.
If you’d like your End of the Year label to stay at the top of your list, add an * to the front of the label name:
Now you can add note headings within this label to start keeping track of all the end of the school year information coming in!
You could also add a “Beginning of Year” label as well. This is a great way to trap all those thoughts swirling in your head as you wrap up this school year, while anticipating the next!
Option Two: Create Multiple Labels
This next option is ideal if you have a lot of notes to keep.
For example, when I taught 5th grade we had a TON of activities…multiple field trips, several special events for graduation, yearbook information, and more:
If you feel like you have a lot to keep track of, it will be helpful to set up individual labels.
Here are some ideas for end of the school year items and events:
- assessments
- report cards
- field trips
- celebrations
- field day
- graduation
- yearbook
- important dates
- awards ceremony
- projects
- performance
I hope these ideas will be of help as you navigate this tricky time for teachers!
