Ok, this may sound a bit strange...but did you know makeup jars provide the PERFECT storage for math manipulatives?
WHY MAKEUP JARS?
The size is just the best!
They are small and can be stored in a larger bin when not in use.
And they are large enough to contain all those tiny math manipulatives:
And the best part?
You can get these jars ready ahead of time, so you won't need to frantically count out all those little supplies just before your math lesson.
Just hand out the jars and your students are ready to use those manipulatives!
WHERE CAN I GET THESE JARS?
I found my jars on Amazon. They were a great price: 36 jars in a pack and about 60¢ per student.
Here is a link to the set I use with my math students:
And these little counters are awesome!! Such eye-catching colors, the students loved using them this past year!
HOW DO I LABEL THEM FOR MY STUDENTS?
I found some great removable labels (also from Amazon)!
I used these labels with my math intervention students this past year and they were very easy to remove as I switched groups.

IS IT REALLY WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY?
I think it is.
I was thankful EVERY time I grabbed a manipulative for my math students this year. I never had to stop and count items out, I just handed them a jar and we were off!
A little bit of setup went a long way in saving time.
Thanks for reading!
