Flipped Signs (round alphabet)

June 8, 2012
Hey everyone! I had a personal day today and it was a lovely taste of summer! In between working on assessments, I made some more Flipped Signs, like the supply ones I mentioned yesterday.
‘Cept these ones had to be round (you all know how much I love round signs)! Plus it gave me an excuse to dust off my beloved circle cutter too!! πŸ™‚
Sooo…these letters can be used for a leveled library or a word wall. They print in black with white or…

As brights when printed on colored cardstock!!

I found that out after experimenting with some different papers today. Any parts of the label that are white will actually show up blank (since the printer doesn’t print white ink, it just leaves that space empty). So that means you can put any bright-colored paper that matches your classroom color scheme and…voila!!
These round alphabet labels are 4″ around and are available in my Teachers Notebook shop for $2.00. If you would like to see more details, please click on the preview below…
I will be giving more details on this soon, but I am currently using all proceeds from my shop to start an iPad collection for my classroom. The inspiration for all of the little products I make comes from working with my incredible students and I would like to use any earnings for something really impacting we can use together in class. More to come on this in the future! πŸ™‚
And, as a thank you for the kind words last evening (and sweet welcome-backs!), I would love to give five free copies of Flipped Signs (Round Alphabet) to the first five readers to comment with their email address. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Um. . . . . .LOVE these! I need new labels and I love using bright card stock. I don't really like the look of white (plus, we don't have access to a color printer) so the cardstock is the best option.

    Thanks for sharing!

Love these! I am thinking of using any money that I earn from my TPT store to go towards an ipad for my classroom too. I'm interested in hearing more about what you plan to do.

    • Kristen June 9, 2012 at 12:46 pm

I use an HP Wireless one…it's a bit older of a model but I love it so much I bought the same exact one when my first HP finally died. It prints the colors really nicely πŸ™‚

Will you be making individual book labels in "flipped" colors as well? I LOVE your products!

  • Susan Rodriguez June 29, 2012 at 9:31 pm

I love your products as well. You might say that my theme this year is "Ladybug Teacher Files". ha ha. I was wondering if you have flipped numbers 1-10? I am reading Debbie Diller's Math Workstations book and want to put numbers on my workstation boxes. Of course it HAS to match! Also wondering about book labels.

I picked these up at Teachers Notebook and I'm so glad I did! I can't wait to organize my classroom library, which is always a huge undertaking each year. I never thought to alphabetize them! I always tried to do it by genre, but getting the students to put it back in the right spot was always a nightmare. I'm hoping your signs will help make it easier to stay organized! Thank you!

  • Anonymous July 14, 2012 at 1:13 am

Can you make these for numbers too!?

  • Primary Possibilities July 16, 2012 at 1:45 pm

These are really cute! Makes me wish I had some black in my color scheme!!

  • Mrs. A. Black July 22, 2012 at 10:20 am

I LOVE these! Do you have round table signs as well? (As in, Table 1, Table 2, etc…)
Your products are just adorable and I can't wait to use the letters for my word wall! :0)

    • Kristen July 23, 2012 at 6:25 pm

Thanks very much!! I don't currently have those signs in my shop, I'm sorry!

  • Athena Mcfadden September 18, 2012 at 2:43 am

The letters are wonderful. Thanks for the thinking:)

  • Nancy June 17, 2013 at 6:59 pm

I purchased your flipped alphabet line in blue and green from TPT. I haven't printed them yet because the black ink on my printer is low. I was wondering if you have heard from other customers about printing the flipped signs at retail locations such as Fed Ex/Kinko's or Office Depot to save on ink?? I believe if I print out the alphabet line that it will use up an entire ink cartridge. Right now, for my printer, the ink cartridges are around $30.00.

    • Kristen June 17, 2013 at 11:51 pm

Hi Nancy! Yes I have heard of customers doing so and they were happy with it. I print every alphabet I make to check it and I've never used up an ink cartridge for one alphabet, but my printer could be different. Thanks for visiting and commenting!
